The Van Wagoner Small-Cap Growth Fund seeks capital appreciation by investing primarily (at least 80% of its total assets) in companies that have a market capitalization that ranges from the smallest to the largest companies in the Russell 2000 Growth Index at the time of purchase.
The Fund invests in companies that are developing innovative products and
services. Although these companies may be early in their lifecycle, we look
for an established product or service, existing customers, seasoned management
and a strong market niche - the future market leaders. Some of these companies
are not yet followed by Wall Street, providing us with a unique investment
opportunity. Small-Cap companies may still be
developing and may be subject to greater business risks and more sensitive
to changes in economic conditions than larger, more established companies.
